Marvel<\/strong><\/a> is gearing up for Phase 3 with big changes, including new characters (Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Panther) and, now it would seem, the end of Captain America<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Okay, okay, I’m being a little hyperbolic.<\/p>\n But Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige<\/strong> did tell MTV<\/a> that Captain America: Civil War<\/em> is the end of the First Avenger’s trilogy:<\/p>\n “It\u2019s very much, in a certain way, the completion of a Captain America trilogy. I think one day you\u2019ll look back and watch \u2014 \u2019Captain America: The First Avenger,\u2019 \u2019Captain America: The Winter Soldier,\u2019 and \u2019Captain America: Civil War\u2019 \u2014 and it\u2019ll be one of the most unique and different trilogies ever around a single character.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Hold on, does that mean Cap might actually die in Civil War?<\/em> For real?<\/p>\n We know that actor Chris Evans<\/strong> will be in Infinity War<\/em> (when his contract is set to end) but that could be in a variety of ways, such as flashback or conjured up via one of the Infinity Stones, which would still allow him to die in his next outing.<\/p>\n The main three actors involved in this – Evans, Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), and Anthony Mackie (Falcon) – have been coy about Cap dying and either of the latter two taking up the mantle.<\/p>\n It’s no surprise, really. If Cap does<\/em> die, Marvel doesn’t want to give it away. And maybe he won’t<\/em> die. The conclusion to a trilogy doesn’t mean there’s no more story left to tell at all.<\/p>\n Still, it’s an interesting way to describe the movie and definitely makes me think.<\/p>\n Feige also mentions that, despite the deluge of characters<\/a>, Civil War<\/em> is “very much a sequel to Winter Solider.<\/em>”<\/p>\n Phew. That’s honestly been one of my biggest concerns. Winter Soldier<\/em> is, by far, the best film in the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it set up a compelling story. While my fears haven’t completely vanished, I am a little more hopeful that Civil War<\/em> won’t lose sight of that, especially with the Russo brothers at the helm<\/a>.<\/p>\n Do you think Cap will die at the end of Civil War?<\/em> How do you want<\/em> to see his trilogy end?
