{"id":31122,"date":"2015-10-15T09:51:54","date_gmt":"2015-10-15T16:51:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/news\/?p=31122"},"modified":"2019-03-06T15:41:35","modified_gmt":"2019-03-06T23:41:35","slug":"two-x-men-shows-in-development-and-marvel-get-fantastic-four-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/news\/two-x-men-shows-in-development-and-marvel-get-fantastic-four-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Marvel and FOX Are Developing Two Live-Action X-Men TV Shows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the huge response to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Marvel&amp;id=EN-407186506\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Marvel<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>Sony<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/news\/2015\/02\/10\/spider-man-coming-to-marvel-studios\/\">making a deal<\/a> to share <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Spider-Man&amp;id=EN-407186506\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Spider-Man<\/strong><\/a>, Fox is jumping in on the action and partnering with Marvel to expand the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=X-Men&amp;id=EN-407186506\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>X-Men<\/strong><\/a> universe.<\/p>\n<p>How, you ask? With two live-action TV shows! Yup, you&#8217;re going to get mutants on your TV screen week after week. Cue the Hallelujah chorus.<\/p>\n<p>The first show will air on Fox and be called <strong><em>Hellfire.<\/em><\/strong> In Marvel&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/marvel.com\/news\/tv\/25282\/fox_in_development_on_hellfire_working_title?linkId=17951885\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">official announcement<\/a>, they describe the show as following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Set in the late 1960s, the series &#8212; which will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television, with 20th Century Fox handling the physical production &#8212; follows a young Special Agent who learns that a power-hungry woman with extraordinary abilities is working with a clandestine society of millionaires \u2013 known as \u201cThe Hellfire Club\u201d \u2013 to take over the world.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Emma Frost, Emma Frost, Emma Frost.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are thrilled to partner with Marvel to bring this world to television and build upon the vibrant mythology that has captivated fans for years,&#8221; says David Madden, President of Fox.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick McKay and JD Payne will write the pilot and script and big names from both sides, such as Jeph Loeb (head of Marvel Television) and Bryan Singer (<em>X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse<\/em>), will executive produce.<\/p>\n<p>The second show, titled <em><strong>Legion,<\/strong><\/em> will be part of FX family and <a href=\"http:\/\/marvel.com\/news\/tv\/25281\/fx_networks_orders_pilot_for_legion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Marvel<\/a> describes the show as:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The story of David Haller: Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he\u2019s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the comics, Haller is the son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier and a very powerful mutant who can absorb other people&#8217;s psyches and manifest their powers.<\/p>\n<p>Noah Hawley (<em>Fargo, Bones<\/em>) is tapped to write the script and once again, people like Loeb and Singer will executive produce.<\/p>\n<p>And despite rumors, the Fantastic Four also still remain at 20th Century Fox.<\/p>\n<p>Are you looking forward to watching the X-Men on television?
