And we all remember how those went, right? &#8230;&#8230;&#8230; Right?<\/p>\n<p>Well, now MGM and Warner Bros. are working on a reboot and though it&#8217;s been in development limbo for the past several years, it seems like it&#8217;s finally getting off the ground.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/heat-vision\/tomb-raider-reboot-finds-director-840824\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reveals<\/a> the film has found a director in <strong>Roar Uthaug,<\/strong> the Norwegian filmmaker behind <em>The Wave, Cold Prey,<\/em> and more.<\/p>\n<p>Not only that but the script also has a new writer:<strong> Geneva Robertson-Dworet,<\/strong> who wrote <em>Hibernation<\/em> and is a co-writer for <em>Transformers 5.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Dworet comes after several people have already flexed their writing muscles on this script, including Evan Daugherty, Marti Noxon, Mark Fergus, and Hawk Ostby. Fifth time&#8217;s the charm?<\/p>\n<p><em>Tomb Raider<\/em> is an action-adventure game that follows British archaeologist Lara Croft. The lore is ripe for adapting into a thrilling film, so let&#8217;s hope it can finally happen.<\/p>\n<p>The reboot is set to come out in 2017. Are you looking forward to it?
