{"id":35129,"date":"2015-12-21T13:02:50","date_gmt":"2015-12-21T20:02:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/?p=35129"},"modified":"2019-03-06T15:12:17","modified_gmt":"2019-03-06T23:12:17","slug":"harry-potter-cursed-child-casts-harry-ron-hermione","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/harry-potter-cursed-child-casts-harry-ron-hermione\/","title":{"rendered":"Harry Potter Sequel Play Casts Adult Harry, Ron, and Hermione"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When we first announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Harry+Potter&amp;utm_source=ee-blog&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=entertainment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Harry Potter<\/strong><\/em><\/a> was getting a sequel in the form of a play, we were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/2015\/06\/26\/jk-rowling-announces-new-harry-potter-play-in-london\/\">really excited<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the adult versions of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger have officially been cast for <em><strong>Harry Potter and the Cursed Child<\/strong><\/em> and we&#8217;re even more excited!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jamie Parker,<\/strong> currently starring in <em>Guys and Dolls,<\/em> will take on the role of the Boy Who Lived, years after he defeated the evil Lord Voldemort.<\/p>\n<p>The bookish Hermione Granger will be played by <strong>Noma Dumezweni,<\/strong> an Olivier Award-winning actress (for <em>A Raisin in the Sun<\/em>). She was even in an episode of <em>Doctor Who!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Lastly, <strong>Paul Thornley<\/strong> will play resident king, Ron Weasley. He was recently in the film <em>London Road<\/em> and has appeared on stage in productions such as <em>The Three Musketeers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>They look great and it&#8217;s going to be so cool to see the characters we&#8217;ve grown up with all grown up themselves now. That&#8217;s if you&#8217;re lucky enough to get to London to see the play at all.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the synopsis for the story:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn\u2019t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.<\/p>\n<p>While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.
