Forever, According to Bob Iger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s hoping none of you are getting tired of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Marvel&amp;utm_source=ee-blog&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=entertainment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Marvel<\/strong><\/a> and\/or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/starwars.asp?utm_source=ee-blog&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=entertainment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Star Wars<\/em><\/strong><\/a> films!<\/p>\n<p>Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger recently spoke to the BBC about Disney&#8217;s Marvel and Lucasfilm divisions.<\/p>\n<p>He spoke about the multiple projects in the <em>Star Wars<\/em> universe that are on the horizon:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;There are five Star Wars films &#8211; four more with Episode VII: The Force Awakens &#8211; that are in varying stages of development and production.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The four other films, besides <em>The Force Awakens,<\/em> are the next episodic films, VIII and IX, as well as the two announced spin-off films, <em>Rogue One<\/em> and the untitled young Han Solo film.<\/p>\n<p>Iger mentioned &#8220;there will be more after that,&#8221; but he doesn&#8217;t know how many or how often. At least there won&#8217;t be a decade between each venture back into this universe?<\/p>\n<p>As for Marvel, it&#8217;s as wide-open as <em>Star Wars,<\/em> it seems.<\/p>\n<p>According to Iger: &#8220;Marvel, you&#8217;re dealing with thousands and thousands of characters &#8211; that will go on forever.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Forever certainly seems hyperbolic and counting on people not getting tired of all these films.<\/p>\n<p>But Iger doesn&#8217;t think that will be a problem. He says they &#8220;keep raising the bar in terms of telling stories that bring them back, that excite them, that make it feel new and that is what we do for a living.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As CEO, he has to say something like that, but it could turn out to be a much bigger problem than his quote indicates. Still, it&#8217;s not something we&#8217;ll really know for a few more years in all likelihood.<\/p>\n<p>Would you like to see Marvel and <em>Star Wars<\/em> films go on forever, or do you think you will grow weary of them?
