{"id":41487,"date":"2016-04-08T14:52:49","date_gmt":"2016-04-08T21:52:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/?p=41487"},"modified":"2019-03-06T11:57:22","modified_gmt":"2019-03-06T19:57:22","slug":"kevin-feige-teases-spider-man-mcu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/kevin-feige-teases-spider-man-mcu\/","title":{"rendered":"[UPDATED] Which MCU Characters Do You Want to See in Solo Spider-Man Films?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UPDATE 4\/21:<\/strong> According to <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/heat-vision\/robert-downey-jr-joins-spider-885829\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>,<\/em> Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man) has officially joined the cast of <em>Spider-Man: Homecoming<\/em> which means we&#8217;ll seeing Iron Man and Spidey team up once more!<\/p>\n<p>By now, we&#8217;re all well aware of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/2016\/03\/10\/spider-man-debuts-in-new-captain-america-civil-war-trailer\/\">Spider-Man<\/a> in <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?searchfield=captain%20america%3A%20civil%20war&amp;utm_source=ee-blog&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=entertainment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Captain America: Civil War<\/a>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>We also know that your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is getting another solo film in 2017, which is going to be distributed by Sony, but overseen by Marvel.<\/p>\n<p>So Spider-Man is officially part of the MCU &#8211; but how much will the MCU really overlap with Spidey and his stories? Well, that can&#8217;t really be answered yet, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did all but confirm it would happen:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If that&#8217;s not saying &#8220;MCU characters will show up in <em>Spider-Man<\/em> films,&#8221; I don&#8217;t know what is.<\/p>\n<p>The interesting question to pose now is: which characters? Peter&#8217;s on Iron Man&#8217;s team in <em>Civil War,<\/em> so I think it&#8217;s a fair assumption that we could see Iron Man in a <em>Spider-Man<\/em> film, especially depending on whether or not there will be any more <em>Iron Man<\/em> films.<\/p>\n<p>Whoever it ends up being, we thought it&#8217;d be fun to pose the question to you, so vote for your pick to appear in a <em>Spider-Man<\/em> film!<\/p>\n<p><script>\n  (function(d, s, id){\n    var js,\n        fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],\n        p = (('https:' == d.location.protocol) ?
