Title aside, I love the design of this logo, with the swoop and the Spidey mask as the “o.”

I know the weariness over so many different Spider-Man iterations in so many years. Believe me, I get it, I’ve felt them too. Both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield had some great things going for them, and now we have another actor, Tom Holland, and it can get tiring.

From all the reviews I’ve read so far on Captain America: Civil War, Holland is great as Peter Parker and people are looking forward to his turn in the solo film. I don’t know about all of that yet, but I do know that I’m charmed by this logo.

It feels fun and whimsical, in ways that remind me of the character of Spider-Man. As Devin Faraci points out, it’s quite similar to the original comic logo:

This is the comic logo. pic.twitter.com/MKoOkFTsDZ

— devin faraci (@devincf) April 13, 2016

So regardless of the title itself, of Holland’s performance in Civil War, I really like this new logo and I’m intrigued to see where it goes.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland and Marisa Tomei, is set to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.

What do you think of the new title and logo?
