{"id":41852,"date":"2016-04-15T10:22:27","date_gmt":"2016-04-15T17:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/?p=41852"},"modified":"2019-03-06T11:45:18","modified_gmt":"2019-03-06T19:45:18","slug":"neil-gaimain-writing-good-omens-miniseries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/neil-gaimain-writing-good-omens-miniseries\/","title":{"rendered":"Neil Gaiman Reveals He&#8217;s Writing Six-Part Good Omens TV Miniseries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch,<\/strong><\/em> often shortened to simply <em>Good Omens,<\/em> is a 1990 book about the coming apocalypse co-written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s beloved by many, and live-action adaptations of it have been discussed for years.<\/p>\n<p>At a memorial for the late Pratchett on Thursday night, Gaiman revealed he had received a letter from Pratchett, delivered posthumously, asking Gaiman to write a live-action TV miniseries of their novel.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At that point, I think I said, &#8216;You bastard, yes,'&#8221; Gaiman said in his speech to the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>He also revealed the miniseries would be six parts.<\/p>\n<p>There was once a film in the works by director Terry Gilliam, but it never went anywhere. However, just a couple of years ago, he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blastr.com\/2014-2-3\/terry-gilliams-still-fighting-adapt-good-omens-maybe-not-film\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">entertained<\/a> the notion of it being a six-part TV event, so he may have involvement yet.
