{"id":42204,"date":"2016-04-21T08:24:21","date_gmt":"2016-04-21T15:24:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/?p=42204"},"modified":"2019-03-06T11:27:28","modified_gmt":"2019-03-06T19:27:28","slug":"walt-disney-world-awaken-summer-toy-story-land","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/walt-disney-world-awaken-summer-toy-story-land\/","title":{"rendered":"Behind the Scenes of Walt Disney World&#8217;s New Toy Story Land and More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, Walt Disney World revealed #AwakenSummer, announcing several projects that guests will be able to experience starting this summer and beyond at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/disney.asp?utm_source=ee-blog&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=entertainment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disney<\/a> resort.<\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest &#8211; and most talked about &#8211; developments is <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Toy+Story&amp;utm_source=ee-blog&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=entertainment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Toy Story Land<\/a>,<\/strong> located in Hollywood Studios right behind the already existing Toy Story Midway Mania attraction.<\/p>\n<p>In this new land, you&#8217;ll walk straight into Andy&#8217;s backyard and be transformed into the size of a toy. There will also be two new attractions for guests to enjoy: Slinky Dog Dash, a family coaster, and Alien Swirling Saucers, where you have to avoid &#8220;The Claw.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Check out a concept video and some art below!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rw4QZFneoTo\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no confirmed opening date for the new land (the same goes for Hollywood Studios&#8217; other new land, <em>Star Wars<\/em>), but it&#8217;s in development, which is exciting!<\/p>\n<p>For this summer, though, there will be other new things to enjoy, like the fireworks show at Hollywood Studios: <em>Star Wars:<\/em> A Galactic Spectacular, which is set to start in June.<\/p>\n<p>Plus you can already enjoy the live stage show <em>Star Wars:<\/em> A Galaxy Far, Far Away, which opened in April, as well as the Launch Bay and March of the First Order Stormtroopers, led by Captain Phasma.<\/p>\n<p>Across the way in Epcot, the brand new Soarin&#8217; Over the World attraction opens on June 17 (it also opens at Disney&#8217;s California Adventure the same day!) and Frozen Ever After, the new attraction in the Norway pavilion, is set to open in June.<\/p>\n<p>As guests board a boat, they&#8217;ll travel through Arendelle where Queen Elsa is celebrating a &#8220;Winter in Summer&#8221; day. The attraction will be topped off by the original voice actors of the movie, with new dialogue and songs for the ride.<\/p>\n<p>So: who&#8217;s ready to go to Disney World?
