{"id":43273,"date":"2016-05-10T12:58:08","date_gmt":"2016-05-10T19:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/?p=43273"},"modified":"2019-03-06T10:45:20","modified_gmt":"2019-03-06T18:45:20","slug":"pokemon-sun-and-moon-trailers-reveal-starters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/pokemon-sun-and-moon-trailers-reveal-starters\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet the Newest Pok\u00e9mon Starters in First Trailers for Sun and Moon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The next two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Pokemon&amp;utm_source=ee-blog&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=entertainment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Pok\u00e9mon<\/strong><\/em><\/a> games, <em>Sun<\/em> and <em>Moon,<\/em> were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/2016\/02\/26\/pokemon-moon-and-sun-announcement\/\">revealed<\/a> a couple of months ago, and now we have our first look at the gameplay, as well as the brand new starters.<\/p>\n<p>Set to arrive later this year, this is the most we&#8217;ve seen of these games yet and it&#8217;s very exciting.<\/p>\n<p>So get ready to meet Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio in the franchise&#8217;s newest region, Alola, which seems to be modeled after Hawaii:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Kn25hijDL7c\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Gameplay is pretty much the same as in most other <em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> games because, well, if it&#8217;s not broken, don&#8217;t fix it. These games are reliable, fun, and still able to be new and that&#8217;s all we really need.<\/p>\n<p>The three new starters consist of Rowlet, a grass and flying Pok\u00e9mon who can move silently and turn its head nearly 180-degrees; Litten, a cat-like fire Pok\u00e9mon who uses hairballs as attacks and is always coolheaded; and Popplion, a sea lion-esque creature and water Pok\u00e9mon, whose speed in the water can exceed 25 mph.<\/p>\n<p>The tropical setting of the game is explored even more in a live-action based trailer that is sure to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2r0_F-_ClcQ\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Okay, okay, I&#8217;m just a sucker for human connection stories and a little boy from Japan moving and making new friends through shared interests like <em>Pok\u00e9mon?<\/em> Me and my barely concealed tear ducts are so there.<\/p>\n<p>The games, exclusive to the 3DS, are set to come out later this year.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think of the gameplay and new region?
