{"id":44723,"date":"2016-06-02T16:35:21","date_gmt":"2016-06-02T23:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/news\/?p=44723"},"modified":"2019-02-28T14:11:40","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T22:11:40","slug":"rick-famuyiwa-new-flash-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/news\/rick-famuyiwa-new-flash-director\/","title":{"rendered":"The Flash Finds a New Director for 2018 Release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Flash&amp;utm_source=ee-blog&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=entertainment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Flash<\/strong><\/a> has recently become one of DC&#8217;s most popular characters in media, mostly thank to the successful series on The CW.<\/p>\n<p>Soon he&#8217;s going to have his shot at making a name for himself on the big screen, though.<\/p>\n<p>We got a brief glimpse at Ezra Miller&#8217;s Flash in <em>Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,<\/em> but we&#8217;ll see him in all his glory come 2018, after he appears in <em>The Justice League Part One<\/em> in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>His solo film, which reports say will not be an origin story, was rolling along with author and screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith attached to direct. But he recently left the project due to creative differences and the film was without a director &#8211; until now.<\/p>\n<p>Rick Famuyiwa has become the new go-to guy for the film and this is exciting for several reasons. It means, alongside Ryan Coogler (who will be directing <em>Black Panther<\/em>), we&#8217;re getting two black directors for big superhero blockbusters, and also that we&#8217;ll be getting an interesting and individual take.<\/p>\n<p>Famuyiwa is the director behind <em>Dope<\/em> and HBO&#8217;s <em>Confirmation<\/em> starring Kerry Washington, both projects that were well received.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Flash<\/em> is set to arrive on March 16, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Do you think Famuyiwa is a good choice of director?
