I’ve been on the Donald Glover for Spider-Man hype train since it first left the station when Sony announced they were doing a new iteration of the character. Glover’s likability, as well as his enthusiasm for the role, and my eagerness to see Miles Morales on screen, made it all an easy sell.<\/p>\n
As we know, things didn’t turn out that way. Instead, we got Andrew Garfield’s performance as Peter Parker. While I can’t enthusiastically recommend his films, I do think he made an excellent Peter and wish he had been served with better material.<\/p>\n
Still, now we’re on our third generation of cinematic Peter Parker in the form of Tom Holland (first seen in Captain America: Civil War<\/em>) and still no sign of Glover. Until now.<\/p>\n Thanks to a report from The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>,<\/em> we know that Glover will be in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming<\/a>!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n There’s no word on who he’ll play in the film yet, but it’s probably pretty close to impossible that he’d play Miles. But we’re getting Donald Glover in a Spidey film and that’s what matters.<\/p>\n Spider-Man: Homecoming<\/em> is directed by Jon Watts and set to arrive on July 7, 2017.
