For years it was nearly impossible for women to find female action figures of their favorite lady\u00a0protagonists, but lately retailers have realized that female\u00a0geeks aren\u2019t going anywhere. To Hasbro\u2019s credit – the first action figure for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story<\/em> to debut was the film\u2019s female lead, Sergeant Jyn Erso. Not only that, Hasbro came out with an exclusive\u00a0San Diego Comic-Con Jyn Erso action figure variant for the upcoming, and highly collectible Star Wars<\/strong><\/em> The Black Series 6-Inch Action Figure<\/strong><\/a> line as well.<\/p>\n This speaks to the excitement among fans to see a character like Jyn onscreen. There has been a lot of interest around the character since the first teaser of Rogue One<\/em> premiered. Enthusiasts of the Expanded Universe (now called Star Wars<\/em> Legends and not currently considered canon by Disney) have noted that Jyn has Mara Jade tones, which have only fueled the fervor. It\u2019s great to see a film franchise like Star Wars<\/em> have more female protagonists. The films have done an amazing job not falling into the stereotype trap, making sure each heroine – whether it\u2019s Padm\u00e9, Leia, Rey, or now Jyn – has different strengths, weaknesses and flaws. Sergeant Erso brings a more defiant vibe to the table. \u201cI rebel\u201d has already become a fan favorite, showing that people everywhere are ready to see this tough and likely flawed woman\u2019s story unfold in Rogue One<\/em>.<\/p>\n
