20th Century Fox just gave us our first real look at the upcoming third solo Wolverine film titled Logan<\/em>. With the release of this first trailer we got a chance to see Wolverine in a very different light. A dark, gritty and emotional light. Set in the future (a new future set into motion from the time travel shenanigans seen in X-Men: Days of Future Past<\/em>) where mutants are essentially extinct. Wolverine<\/a> no longer heals like he had in the past. He\u2019s an older man now and his injuries and wounds have left scars all over his body.<\/p>\n

The music in the trailer sets the tone for the film with the very haunting \u201cHurt\u201d by Johnny Cash. Wolverine is seen taking care of a very elderly Charles Xavier, who is nowhere near the strong leader of the X-Men<\/a> that we know and love. We\u2019re also introduced to a young girl that Xavier describes to Logan as, \u201cShe\u2019s like you. Very much like you.\u201d We\u2019re led to believe the young girl may in fact be Laura Kinney aka X-23, a female clone of Wolverine created from his DNA (of course, this has not been confirmed\u2026yet). From the trailer it appears that Logan, with Xavier\u2019s help, will be protecting this girl throughout the movie from this very organized group of soldiers.<\/p>\n

Many have assumed that the main theme of Logan<\/em> will be an adapted version of the Old Man Logan<\/em> story told in the comics. Not much of the plot can be taken from the 1:47 long trailer, however, we are in for a lot of action in this film. A lot of violent action, as this will be the first Wolverine film with an R rating.<\/p>\n
