All the way back in September of 2014 it was announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had been cast as Black Adam<\/a> for the DC Extended Universe. We all assumed at that point he would make his first appearance in the Shazam<\/em> film, tentatively set for an April 5, 2019 release. However, today we learned that Black Adam will get his own solo film.<\/p>\n

Black Adam has been a villain and an anti-hero in the comics, and has even had his own comic, so it\u2019s not much of a stretch to see him start as a good guy or reluctant rogue in the DCEU. Rumor has it the original plan for Shazam<\/em> was to not have Black Adam as the main villain, but to have him potentially appear later in the film as a set-up for future films. His character has a similar power set to those of Shazam<\/a> – with flight, strength, lightning manipulation, and all of those powers centered on magic.<\/p>\n

Recently, Johnson posted a picture on Instagram of himself and Henry Cavill with the caption \u201cDC Worlds Will Collide.\u201d We\u2019ll have to wait and see what that exactly means – if it’s more than just a casual meet up.<\/p>\n
