This past week has been a little quieter on the pop culture headlines front but there&#8217;s still a little Holiday cheer to spread so let&#8217;s take a look back at the week that was!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Journey Back to Krypton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WPlz3LfSmq0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Syfy has been working on an original series set on Superman&#8217;s home planet of Krypton but taking place generations before the planet was destroyed. The series will follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Superman&amp;utm_source=ee-blog&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=product\">Superman<\/a>&#8216;s grandfather, Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) as he fights to redeem his family&#8217;s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. The series will debut on March 21, 2018, on the Syfy network. David S. Goyer (<em>Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight<\/em> trilogy) will serve as executive producer while Cameron Welsh (<em>Ash vs Evil Dead<\/em>) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Box Office Busters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To absolutely no one&#8217;s surprise, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/news\/2017\/12\/15\/star-wars-the-last-jedi-review\/\"><em>Star Wars:\u00a0The Last Jedi<\/em><\/a> ($445 million) reigns supreme at the box office and has become the number two movie of 2017 domestically, passing\u00a0<em>Wonder Woman <\/em>($413 million) and behind\u00a0<em>Beauty and the Beast<\/em> ($504 million). For the week,\u00a0<em>Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle<\/em> came in second during its first-week release, including Christmas day. Audiences seem to be enjoying the second <em>Jumanji<\/em> live-action film, getting an A- CinemaScore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Top 10 Hottest Collectibles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our recently released list of hottest collectibles of 2017 was featured on <a href=\"http:\/\/comicbook.com\/starwars\/2017\/12\/28\/10-hottest-collectibles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ComicBook.com<\/a> and showcases the biggest and best collectibles of the past year. Merchandise from <em>Power Rangers<\/em>, <em>Game of Thrones<\/em>, <em>Rick and Morty<\/em>, and <em>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles<\/em> made the list. And of course there&#8217;s plenty of <em>Star Wars<\/em> collectibles represented on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/news\/2017\/12\/26\/hottest-collectibles-2017\/\">this list<\/a> as new movies come out, new toys are close behind.
