Deadpool 2<\/span><\/i> opened this week, and the R-rated Marvel movie is already breaking records. With an estimated $18.6 million from Thursday previews alone, it\u2019ll be interesting to see whether Deadpool and friends have the power to wrestle the number one spot from <\/span>Infinity War<\/span><\/i>. Either way, it looks like Josh Brolin’s still sitting at the top. Not bad for a Goonie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marvel Moves Forward with the Eternals Movie<\/h2>\n

Well, folks, it\u2019s official: Marvel has<\/span>\u00a0confirmed a new writing team<\/span><\/a> to pen <\/span>The Eternals <\/span><\/i>script. Screenwriting duo Matthew and Ryan Firpo, who shot to fame last year with their acclaimed <\/span>Ruin<\/span><\/i> script, have been tapped to translate Jack Kirby\u2019s epic comic to the big screen. No screenshots yet, but with the same team behind<\/span> Infinity War<\/span><\/i> attached, this is one movie to keep an eye on. <\/span><\/p>\n

New G.I. Joe Spinoff Movie Announced<\/b><\/h2>\n

Hot off the heels of the venerable <\/span>Transformers<\/span><\/i> franchise, Hasbro and Paramount have announced they\u2019re teaming up to work on a new <\/span>G.I. Joe <\/span><\/i>spinoff<\/span>. Centered around the deadly ninja assassin Snake Eyes, details are still forthcoming, but with a handful of A-list producers attached to the project, it definitely looks promising. Star Wars Celebration Dates Announced <\/b><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s official! The 2019 Star Wars Celebration will be held in Chicago\u2019s famed <\/span>McCormick Place and will go from April 11th to the 15th. Just to get a feel for what to expect, last year\u2019s event offered lucky goers a sneak peek at upcoming games and even a never-before-seen preview of <\/span>The Last Jedi<\/span><\/i>. Batwoman Is Teaming Up With Arrow<\/b><\/h2>\n

Big things are happening for Batwoman. It looks like your favorite feline superhero will be joining CW\u2019s <\/span>Arrow<\/span><\/i> series this winter. Yup, Gotham City, and New York are finally crossing paths. In<\/span> a public statement<\/span><\/a> made earlier this week, CW Presiden<\/span>t <\/span>Mark Pedowitz said, \u201cWe are adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse. This will be another full-throttled, action-packed event.\u201d If you haven\u2019t been watching Arrow, you\u2019ve been missing out. <\/span><\/p>\n

New Funko 5 Star Figures<\/strong><\/h2>\n

And in toy news, Funko announced their new 5 Star line that features none other than the wonderful wizarding world of Harry Potter<\/em>. The new figures will feature three different points of articulation and will come with their own stylized window box that opens like a magical book. With a tentative August release, <\/span>pre-orders are already up<\/span><\/a>. As with most Funko lines, expect this one to sell out fast. <\/span><\/p>\n
