Attendees of Hall H first witnessed the romance, danger, and action-packed drama of the final film\u2019s teaser alongside the cast and crew of both <em>The Hobbit<\/em> and <em>The Lord of the Rings<\/em> films.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer hauntingly re-purposes the song <em>Billy Boyd<\/em>, which Pippin sings in <em>The Return of the King<\/em> as the forces of Minas Tirith are destroyed in battle. The song itself foreshadows the ensuing battle in <em>Five Armies<\/em> without revealing too much of the plot, which lends an emotional tone to the preview.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Colbert, who is an avid J.R.R. Tolkien fan, moderated the panel dressed as the character he cameoed as in <em>The Hobbit<\/em>. After the upcoming film\u2019s preview, director Peter Jackson joked, \u201cThat was really just for you, Stephen,\u201d adding, \u201cI mean, the other people are here, as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But it was not just Colbert who was enthusiastic about the film.
