At a press junket for the upcoming film, Spider-Man: Far From Home<\/em><\/a>, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, revealed that Avengers: Endgame<\/em><\/a> will be re-released on June 28 – a week before Far From Home<\/em> hits theaters.<\/p>\n

Feige confirmed with multiple sources that the re-release of the three-hour long film will not be an \u201cextended cut\u201d but rather will have new footage \u201cafter the credits, there\u2019ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises.\u201d Many film pundits have been debating whether this move was to take down James Cameron’s Avatar<\/em>, which currently holds the all-time global box office record of $2.788 billion. But to do that Endgame would have to earn close to $45 million. If any film can unseat Avatar<\/em>, it would be Endgame<\/a>,<\/em> as it has a decade-long cinematic universe support it.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

So if the re-release isn\u2019t about besting Avatar\u2019s<\/em> box office, then why is Marvel re-issuing the film? Well, it\u2019s common to see re-releases of films \u2013 even Avatar<\/em> had its own re-release in 2010. The reason for these re-issues is to grab the attention of moviegoers and bring them back into the theater for a film that they’ve already seen. It’s also to bring in a new audience. Especially, to bring in a younger audience that is already looking forward to seeing Spider-Man<\/em><\/a> a week later.<\/p>\n[UPDATE]\n

Endgame<\/em> has officially passed Avatar<\/em>‘s original theatrical gross of $2.749 million. Not only that But Marvel Studios has officially announced the re-release dubbing it “Avengers: Endgame<\/em> Bring Back Event,” which starts on Friday, June 28 with participating theaters nationwide holding a Bring Back event for fans to see Endgame<\/em> one more time on the big screen before it finishes its theatrical run.<\/p>\n

Fans who buy a movie ticket will receive an exclusive piece of Avengers<\/em> art (available in select theaters and until supplies run out) and will also be treated to a video introduction by director Anthony Russo and an unfinished deleted scene from the film, and it will be a chance for fans to get a head start on the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home<\/em><\/a> via a special sneak peek!<\/p>\n
