ARTFX Artist Series Rey Statue<\/h3>\n

Of all the questions fans were hoping Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker<\/em><\/a> would answer, none loomed larger than the mystery of Rey\u2019s parents.<\/p>\n

Would the Sequel Trilogy\u2019s heroine turn out to be the child of \u201cfilthy junk traders\u201d (Kylo Ren\u2019s claim in Star Wars: The Last Jedi<\/em><\/a>)? A long-lost member of the Skywalker clan? A vergence in the Force? Someone else entirely?<\/p>\n

The answer – Rey’s parentage doesn’t matter. Her willingness to fight for what\u2019s right and her unassailable hope prove she is, in some way, a descendant of light.<\/p>\n

\u201cDescendant of Light\u201d is the title of this gorgeous new collectible statue from Kotobukiya<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The latest in its line of dynamically posed, exquisitely detailed ARTFX statues, this sculpture of the scavenger from Jakku turned heir apparent to the Jedi order captures all the strength, nobility, and grace that made Rey an instant fan favorite when introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ARTFX Artist Series Rey Statue realizes in three dimensions the concept art by Japanese manga artist Kamome Shirahama.<\/p>\n

She is no stranger to beautiful depictions of strong, heroic women!<\/p>\n

Her series Tongari Boushi no Atelier<\/em> [Witch Hat Atelier], about a young seamstress who discovers the artist\u2019s pen can create actual magic, boasts unusually elegant and elaborately detailed pictures. It seemingly owes as much to such classic book illustrators as Walter Crane and Jessie Willcox Smith as to manga\u2019s stylistic conventions.<\/p>\n

In the US, she\u2019s used the same bold lines and graceful composition to create stunning covers for such titles as DC Comics\u2019 Batgirl and the Birds of Prey<\/em> and Wonder Woman<\/em>, and Marvel\u2019s Phoenix Resurrection<\/em> and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl<\/em>, among others for both publishers – including several of Marvel\u2019s Star Wars<\/em> titles.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s ideally suited to be the first artist in the Kotobukiya Star Wars project collaborative series.<\/p>\n
