Description

GI Joe Major Pappy Boyington:

This G.I. Joe Diecast Plane coin bank includes a Pilot figure (Can be placed in cockpit coin slot) and stand.
Major Gregory R. "Pappy" Boyington still ranks as one of the greatest fighter pilots ever to engage the enemy in mortal combat. Even before America entered World War II, he flew for the "Flying Tigers," helping protect China from Japanese aggression. Then he formed the famous "Black Sheep" squadron, which destroyed or damaged 197 Japanese planes in just 84 days. The top Marine Ace with 28 downed planes, Pappy was shot down during a heavy dogfight and suffered as a POW for 18 months. He received the Congressional Medal of Honor from President Truman and the Navy Cross.

Now this immortal American hero is honored with a die-cast model of the plane he flew the finest fighter plane of World War II the F4U Corsair. Inducted into the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, this famed fighter is captured in all its glory. From the Boyington Corsair's unique nose art to the tiny white light in the rear of the plane, this is a masterwork of precision engineering. The yellow-tipped propeller spins the rubber tire rolls and this model is equipped with antenna, mast and ammunition compartment just like the original.
