Who wants to schmooze with Shmoo? Shmoo who? Well, in 1948, Al Capp introduced the Shmoo in his popular Li'l Abner strip and it truly took the nation by storm. The Shmoo was a lovable tub of glub whose bewhiskered smile was as endearing as his button eyes. The Shmoo bred with a speed that would put rabbits to shame, consumed essentially nothing, and provided almost everything that humankind could wish for. Packaged in a full-color window box and sporting a bright red ribbon, this 8-inch tall cutie will capture the hearts of new and old fans alike. Better get one for yourself, don't you think?
Besides producing both milk and eggs, its meat was pork when roasted, chicken when fried, and steak when broiled. During its heyday, the Shmoo inspired one of the first true licensed-product bonanzas, appearing as a cornucopia of products that spawned nearly as fast as the Shmoos themselves.
