In 1991, Nickelodeon first aired an innovative cartoon from the mind of animator John Kricfalusi about an "asthma-hound chihuahua" and a cat much bigger than him who didn't look much like a cat... and anyone with a sense of humor who saw it instantly became a fan of The Ren & Stimpy show.
