Civil War Battle of the Ironclads Monitor and Merrimac Plastic Model Kit:The Civil War Battle of the Ironclads Monitor and Merrimac Plastic Model Kit includes the Merrimac at 1:300 scale and the Monitor at 1:210 scale, molded in light grey. Assembled, the Monitor measures approximately 8 1/4-inches in length, and the Merrimac is approximately 14-inches long. This model kit also includes a 13-inch long by 9-inch wide seascape base, as well as individual display bases. An updated decal sheet and historical booklet are also included, along with detailed instructions. Model is comprised of over 40 parts. Glue and paint required, not included. Ages 14 and up.
On March 9, 1862 a naval battle took place off the coast of Virginia that would forever change warfare at sea. This plastic model set comes with a historical booklet describing the Battle of Hampton Roads and the development of the first ironclad ships leading up to the faceoff. The ships also come with their own individual display stands and nameplates. for ages 14 and up
