JN-4D Curtiss Jenny Airplane 1:48 Scale Model Kit:Ever wanted to fly one of these? Well, we can't give you that, but you can build and display this amazing JN-4D Curtiss Jenny Airplane 1:48 Scale Model Kit. It comes from the classic and very good Lindberg tooling and includes 2 pilots, a ground crewman with dolly, 2 clear windshields, and a detailed engine, cockpit, and landing gear! It measures roughly 7-inches long and has a wingspan of 11-inches. The decal options for 2 versions are from the Aurora Barnstormers, molded in metallic Barstormers green. The classic box art is by Ray Gaedke, and the box top artwork is suitable for framing. 62 parts. Ages 14 and up.
The Curtiss JN ""Jenny"" was a series of biplanes built by the Curtiss Aeroplane Company of Hammondsport, New York beginning in 1915. Although the Curtiss JN series was originally produced as a trainingaircraft for the US Army, the ""Jenny"" (the common nickname derived from ""JN"") continued after World War I as a civil aircraft, and it became the backbone of American postwar civil aviation. Pilots foundthe Jenny's stability and slow speed made it ideal for stunt flyingand aerobatic displays in the barnstorming era. Many Jenny's have been restored and are on display in Air Museums all across the nation.
