The Navy SEALs (Sea, Air, Land) are one of the most respected commando units in the United States military. Formed by President John F. Kennedy in 1962, the SEALs have played a strategic role in missions all over the world. The SEALs are most known for their grueling training and dedication. However, it's their success on missions both reported and unreported that has gained them a reputation as an effective elite force. "Takedown" missions are highly complex, dangerous raids that require a tremendous amount of training and acquired skills in order to execute with perfection. Focusing specifically on hostage and terrorist situations, the SEALs are trained to conduct short-notice, secret, small unit missions mostly at night from the air, sea or land in hazardous conditions. The emphasis of the rescue missions is to be able to secretly enter hostile territory and extract the hostages. SEALs are dispatched for these missions with the goal of trying to solve a global-wide array of hostile issues in a very short amount of time.

The weapon of choice to successfully complete these missions is the M-14 rifle. The M-14 is one of the most reliable weapons with highly accurate long-range penetrating power firing the 7.62 NATO round. Although it is no longer standard issue, it is rugged and proven to be reliable in the harsh environments that SEALs operate in.
