Space Runaway Ideon Sofubi Toy Box Vinyl Figure:Kaiyodo's new line of Sofubi Toy Box "Characters" takes its inspiration from classic garage kits while conceptualizing timeless robot and heroic characters in the Sofubi (soft vinyl) style. The first Toy Box Character statue is an iconic robot from a classic anime series, Ideon from 1980's Space Runaway Ideon! A space opera telling the story of human colonists on another planet utilizing alien technology, Space Runaway Ideon was groundbreaking for its mechanical designs, most notably on the hero giant robot Ideon. Now the Ideon returns, based on an original prototype garage kit created by Hiroyuki Nakazawa and newly refined by Atsuya Ohtsu. The mighty red robot still has the thick body style of the original design with a pose and characteristics of a soft vinyl display model. Ideon stands almost 9 1/2-inches tall, leaning back slightly with legs akimbo and arms pointing straight down. All of the details that make the mighty machine unique are present from the "blades" on the feet, to the elevated shoulder pieces, mechanical details, and of course, the iconic head with mouth plate, visor, and twin antennae.
