Krypto, also known as Superdog, was introduced to fans in Adventure Comics #210 in 1955. The original Krypto was a test subject for Jor-El's rocket prototype, before Kal-El was sent to Earth. Krypto's rocket was knocked off course, but he was eventually reunited with Superman when he landed on Earth.
