How the Small Screen Came to Be

The word comes from Ancient Greek t??e (tèle), meaning "far," and Latin visio, meaning "sight." The Turn of the Century Brought Still More Advances

At the end of the first decade of the 2000s, digital transmissions greatly increased in popularity. Another development was the move from standard definition to high definition, and "smart" devices with integrated Internet and Web 2.0 functions became dominant by the late 2010s.
