Recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest continuously running movie franchise, Godzilla is a multi-media series featuring the titular giant lizard-like monster who is often referred to as "Godzilla King of the Monsters," or "Gigantis." The first Godzilla film, titled Godzilla, released in Japan in 1954 and despite actually dying at the end of it – spoiler! – there have since been over 30 films (including Godzilla vs. Kong), plus comic books, novels, television shows, and video games based on the gigantic ancient lizard and the character’s popularity has only grown.
