A sci-fi horror comedy film about three parapsychologists who are fired from Columbia University in New York and start up their own business investigating and eliminating ghosts, Ghostbusters (titled on screen as Ghost Busters) was the second-best grossing movie of 1984 and was followed by sequels in 1989 and 2016, plus animated TV series like The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters, comic books, a host of video games, and even theme park attractions. What's more, the films invaded pop culture and our lingo where they sparked the catchphrases "Who ya gonna call?
