Assassin's Creed is a third-person action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released worldwide in November 2007 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 video game consoles, in April 2008 for Windows, and in a ported version in Q2 2009 for the iPhone/iPod Touch. It takes place in September 2012, following Desmond Miles, a bartender kidnapped by a laboratory conducting research into genetic memory. As the story develops, it's learned that the laboratory management is a modern version of the Knights Templar, looking for the location of a Piece of Eden which they believe to be hidden in Miles' memory.
