After the devastating battle on Geonosis, additional droid factories had to be built to compensate for their losses. The Techno Union manufactured standard battle droids, super battle droids, and destroyer droids to battle the clone troopers and serve under the command of military strategist General Grievous. After Order Sixty-Six was issued by Darth Sidious and the clone troopers turned against the Jedi, the droid armies were shut down as they were no longer needed to sustain this evil new Empire.
