One of only two players still remaining from the team that moved from Minnesota to Dallas in 1993, Modano owns franchise records for most goals, assists, points, game-winning goals, short-handed goals and games played. Following the departure of longtime team captain Derian Hatcher, it wasn’t a big surprise when Modano earned the captaincy during the 2003 offseason. Part of Dallas’s 1999 Stanley Cup championship team, Modano hopes to be the Stars’ guide to another title.
