Muppets Kermit the Frog Photo Puppet Replica Description:
It ain't easy bein' green. But that's what your friends will be when they see this incredible fellow! This is a full-size, official replica of the Kermit the Frog puppet used for still photo shoots. Made from the original pattern and stitched to replicate the initial sewing, he is also made from the same fleece, micro fiber, and froggy-green felt used on the first Kermit. He's fully poseable, with mouth expression and full articulation in neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles, and fingers. What an awesome collector's piece!

It seems like only yesterday that Kermit got his start on a local television show called Sam & Friends, before growing by leaps and hops into the world's most famous and best-loved amphibian. In point of fact, it's been 50 years since Kermit's creator, Jim Henson, changed the world with Kermit and his Muppet pals.

In truth, Kermit wasn't always a frog. Fashioned from a coat belonging to Henson's mother-- with 2 halves of a ping-pong ball for his eyes-- Kermit was originally more lizard- than frog-like. At first, he had no flippers or collar, but over the years he became "frogified," according to Henson. And the rest is history.

Kermit is a typical Muppet hand-and-rod-operated puppet, one of the simplest kinds of puppet. And yet, it is that very simplicity that makes him so expressive and such an endearing extension of Henson's own personality. For still photo shoots, puppets like Kermit were built without hand openings and with wire armatures that allowed posability, so as to capture that unique Muppet attitude.

Now, It's Easy to be Green! 4/15/2006
The wait is over! After years of hope, fans of Jim Henson's Muppets can finally get a real Muppet of their very own. The Kermit the Frog Photo Puppet is crafted from the same patterns, felt, and construction as the real Kermit photo puppet used by the studio years ago in ads, magazine photo shoots, and more.

A photo puppet is unique because it's designed to be posed and displayed any way you'd like. Kermit's arms, legs, and mouth are articulated so you can have him sitting or standing any way you'd like. The only difference between this edition and a regular puppet is that a photo puppet doesn't have an unsightly hole in his backside for your hand.
