All the children on Elm street begin to have the same frightening nightmares of a ghoulish, badly scarred man who chases them through their sleep with a glove that has razor-sharp, finger-like knives. One of the teens discover that this twisted figure is a murderer, who was killed by a lynch mob made up of parents years before. Freddy is now seeking his revenge by stalking the children of the mob members in their dreams.
