The WW2 Fallschirmjager "KRETA". Fallschirmjager were Germany's highly trained elite paratrooper divisions and were sometimes known as the "Green Devils". During 1941 these troops undertook an airborne assault on Greece and Crete. The code name for the Crete assault was "Operation Mercury" and whilst the outcome was a success for the Germans the losses were high. Because of this Hitler ordered that the Fallschirmjager were never again to be used in an airborne assault and future confrontations with the Allies were as ground forces.
