This is a rendering of Christopher Eccleston from the Series 1 episode called "Father's Day," where Rose asks the Ninth Doctor to take her back to the day her father died so she can be with him at the end. But on arriving in her own personal past, she changes history drastically by saving her father. The resultant "scar in time" causes creatures known as "Reapers" from the Time Vortex to appear. These creatures gradually start to consume every living thing from the Earth, wiping them from time itself. They also deny the Doctor access to the inside of his TARDIS. Only ancient structures can delay them, and the Doctor attempts to shelter a small band of people in a church while he pulls the TARDIS back into existence using the key. But Rose touches a younger version of herself, causing more damage, and the Reapers get in and consume the Doctor. Knowing that he is the problem and the solution, Rose's dad sacrifices himself… and time reasserts itself. This time though, Rose is with him as he dies.
