Description

Firefly Malcolm Reynolds Dog Tag Prop Replica Set:

  • Let me see those dog tags, mister!
  • Boxed set of Malcolm Reynolds' dog tags!
  • Screen-accurate prop replica from the Firefly/Serenity universe.
  • Fashioned from a zinc alloy, with a bronze-like finish.
  • Stay shiny!
An amazing zinc alloy with a bronze-like finish relic of that early 26th century conflict - the Unification War between the ruling Alliance and secessionists known as the Independents - these are the dog tags of Sergeant Malcolm Reynolds, who fought alongside Corporal Zoe Alleyne in the Battle of Serenity Valley. Based on the Firefly/Serenity Universe, the Firefly Malcolm Reynolds Dog Tag Prop Replica Set features the logo of the Independents Army. At the top of the tag's face are the Chinese characters for "soldier" and the numbers 5 and 7, signifying the 57th Overlanders Brigade to which Reynolds belonged. The flipside of the tag has a sort of 26th century QR code, and beneath that is Malcolm Reynolds' rank and serial number. This remarkable set of 2 tags comes with ball-chain necklaces, cleverly packaged in a specially designed Blue Sun cigarillo box. Stay shiny!

These dog tags feature the logo of the Independents Army, a downward-pointing triangle surrounding an upward-pointing star. But an upside-down version of the logo also appeared on screen. Firefly costume designer Shawna Trpcic says that was unintentional - a wardrobe boo-boo - but the folks over at Quantum Mechanix saw it as a boo-boo with creative potential. So, this awesome set of tags incorporates both logos! It made sense that the tag with the original logo would go to the family when a soldier was killed. The tag with the upside-down logo (an upward-pointing triangle surrounding a downward-pointing star) was surmised to remain with the soldier's body.
