As 1/2 of the classic comedic duo, Laurel and Hardy, Stan Laurel usually played a childishly innocent man who always looked up to his good friend Oliver Hardy, whether it was deserved or not. After Oliver Hardy's death, Stan Laurel fell into a deep depression and swore never to do comedy again.
