It was the base for Section 31's AI system Control, which analyzed any threats Starfleet faced. In 2257, Control was infected by an AI program from the future. As a result, it achieved sentience and set out to eliminate all organic life in the Galaxy. It killed all the crew on the station, taking power, gravity, and life support offline. Measures roughly 8-inches long.
