Prime 1 Studio skillfully presents the moment in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King when vulnerable but courageous Frodo Baggins ventures into Cirith Ungol, oblivious to the betrayal he is about to befall. The facial subtlety of Frodo's growing concern and Gollum's malicious intent are excellently captured by the sculptors. Synthetic hair is used, not only on Frodo's Hobbit feet, but also on Gollum's head, emphasizing the superior quality of this statue. And painters have adeptly rendered the journey-worn clothes of Frodo and Gollum's sickly pallor. Frodo strides forth aided by the small but mighty Sting in his right hand and the Phial of Galadriel (with water imbued by the Light of Eärendil, illuminated by a built-in LED) held aloft in his left.

Measuring about 18-inches tall, Frodo and Gollum are together on a mixed-media environmental base that encapsulates the dread that only the land of Mordor can elicit. They're surrounded by telltale signs of the spider-demon - bony scraps and eerie spider-silk webbing. Familiar Tengwar script surrounds the base, denoting the Black speech that's painful for all but Hobbits to hear: "Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul".
