Founded in 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi, Nintendo Karuta initially produced handmade Japanese hanafuda playing cards and eventually distributed its first video game console, the Color TV-Game, in 1977. The Nintendo Entertainment System arrived in 1985 under the current company name. Along with the fun games comes the awesome merchandise.
