The Idolmaster (stylized as THE [email protected]) is a Japanese arcade and console game released on July 26, 2005. It follows the career of a producer who works for the fictional 765 Production studio and has to work with a group of prospective pop idols. An anime adaptation aired from July 7 to December 23, 2011. At the beginning of a game, the producer types in his or her producer name. They then select an idol to produce and decide on an idol's schedule. They can train their idol, communicate with them, or send them to auditions and events.
