The Silence of the Lambs is a 1991 suspense film directed by Jonathan Demme and starring Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Scott Glenn, Anthony Heald, and Ted Levine. It's based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Harris. Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) is pulled from her training at the FBI Academy to interview the notorious Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant psychiatrist and incarcerated cannibalistic serial killer, seeking advice on catching a serial killer known only as "Buffalo Bill."
