The Orb, which featured prominently in the show’s second season, was the mystical item necessary to complete the spell of restoration for a vampire’s soul. In “Becoming, Part 2,” Willow uses the Orb of Thesulah, along with the spell left behind by Miss Calendar, to restore Angel’s soul, and in turn, to help save the world from destruction.
