The second-generation SKYLINE was originally a 1500cc family car, but the front was extended and equipped with the higher-class Gloria 6-cylinder engine. One hundred GTs were produced in the hope of winning the second Japan Grand Prix held in 1964. In the actual race, the car succeeded in overtaking a Porsche 904 Carrera GTS, a commercially available racing car that had been entered at the last minute, albeit for just one lap. This race, in which the boxy SKYLINE took on the world's top sports cars has become known as the beginning of the SKYLINE legend, and it determined the shape of the SKYLINE thereafter. This S54 SKYLINE GT will be produced by TLV. This Japanese Grand Prix version replicates as much detail as possible of the early model known as Type I.
